HOW LONG SHOULD BASEBALL PRACTICE TIMES LAST?




The length of baseball practice times will depend on both the time of the season and the age of the player. Here are some suggestions.

AGE 7-9:

• PRESEASON: One time per week for 50 minutes

• FIRST HALF: One time per week for 45 minutes

• LAST HALF: One time per week for35 minutes

AGE 10-12:

• PRESEASON: Twice a week for 1 hour and 20 minutes

• FIRST HALF: Twice a week for 1 hour

• LAST HALF: Twice a week for 45 minutes

AGE 13-14:

• PRESEASON: Two times per week for 2 hours

• FIRST HALF: Two times per week for 1 ½ hours

• LAST HALF: Two times per week for 55 minutes

AGE 15:

• PRESEASON: Three times per week for 2 hours

• FIRST HALF: Three times per week for 1 ½ hour

• LAST HALF: Three times per week for 1 hour

AGE HS:

• PRESEASON: Five times per week for 2 hr 45 min.

• FIRST HALF: Five times per week for 2 hours

• LAST HALF: Five times per week for 1 hr 45 min.

Also, remember the following when planning your baseball practices.

1. No late practices: 8:30 PM is good; 9:30 PM for HS

2. Dismiss on time. Your parents and players will appreciate you for dismissing on time after each practice.
